The California Community Colleges (CCC) Information Security & Accessibility Winter Workshops will be held exclusively online on January 11-12, 2021.These full-day professional development workshops are open to all CCC staff and faculty, free of charge.
Since 2015, the workshops have been presented twice each year—in winter and summer. The workshops allow the CCC Information Security Center and CCC Accessibility Center to connect with faculty and staff to offer effective strategies and practices for maintaining the security of student and college data, while ensuring that electronic learning materials are provided in a format that is accessible to all students and members of the campus community.
Workshop content always features the latest information on IT security and accessibility topics most relevant to the colleges. Perennial themes include: Windows security, incident response, social media accessibility, understanding legal obligations around information security and accessibility and designing campus policies and conformance reviews. Additionally, presentations highlight the tools and services that are available to California Community Colleges at no charge through the Information Security and Accessibility centers.
With a fully online format for the second time, workshop organizers are hoping to continue to reach a larger audience than would otherwise attend an in-person event. The online-only June IT workshops drew a record attendance of more than 450 CCC staff and faculty members statewide.
The twice-annual professional development workshops are among the many services offered by the Information Security and Accessibility centers and available free to all California community colleges, through a grant from the CCC Chancellor’s Office. Visit the workshops event page for more information and to register.
