Colleges and districts that have not yet integrated with the Vision Resource Center/Cornerstone professional development platform have a new path to integration that offers more time for colleges to strategically implement their portal.
The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office is financially supporting integration for all colleges through June 30, 2021. To ensure that all colleges and districts can seize this opportunity, and recognizing the challenges they have faced over the past year, the Phased Integration path was created to give colleges and districts until June 2022 to integrate the platform and launch it to employees.
Participating colleges will complete the technical training and build the portal by June 30, 2021. Instead of guided functional training, college and district administrators will have access to self-paced functional training from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. This training will take them through the steps of fully building their customized portal and creating the strategy to introduce it to employees.
Integration offers additional features and benefits to colleges, such as the ability to:
- Customize homepages with information that is most valuable and relevant for your employees
- Track and report professional development/FLEX hours
- Create virtual communities for your employees to support communication and collaboration
- Schedule emails from the college though Cornerstone
- Collect event participant feedback
All California community college professionals have access to over 7,000 learning modules available in the Vision Resource Center. Several California Community Colleges-specific modules are available to support the colleges’ work in guiding their students to success as we collectively continue working toward the Vision for Success goals.
The Pursuing the Vision for Success module explores the Vision for Success goals and commitments to transform our students’ outcomes. The module addresses how these goals and commitments connect to Guided Pathways and what changes the California Community Colleges is undergoing to achieve them.
The Equitable Placement (AB 705) Toolkit provides everything you need to plan, communicate and implement equitable placement practices at your college. Components of the toolkit include Guided Placement, Retroactive Placement, Corequisite Support Frameworks and Data Gathering and Analysis.
Scaling Innovation for Student Success is a module that shares insights from the Chancellor’s Higher Education Innovation Awards recipients’ learning journeys and demonstrates how transformative change happens within California Community Colleges.
Introduction to Noncredit Education is a module that explores these low-cost or free courses that offer students a more versatile time frame than traditional courses. Noncredit instruction provides diverse communities and students educational opportunities to advance their personal and professional goals and gain career preparation.
