Registration is open for the Information Security and Accessibility 2019 Summer Workshops, taking place Monday, July 29, and Tuesday, July 30, at Coast Community College District in Costa Mesa.

Presented by the California Community Colleges Information Security Center and the Accessibility Center, attendees will learn about colleges’ legal obligations to secure student data and ensure campus web and information technology (IT) environments are accessible to all campus community members. Presentations and hands-on activities will explore steps colleges can take to become compliant with security and accessibility standards, as well as the expanding array of free applications, services and resources available to assist with these efforts.

One recent workshop attendee found the information to be valuable, “especially those sessions that stressed the importance [of information security and accessibility] to executives, and that it is everyone’s responsibility, not just IT’s.”

“This workshop was highly relevant and very useful,” noted another attendee. “I brought back a lot of information and a checklist of things to work on.”

This free professional development opportunity offers up to two full days of instruction, advice, best practices and activities specifically for CCC personnel. Workshop content is applicable to staff, managers and administrators whose work involves IT systems, IT accessibility, disability services or faculty training and support. Participants may register to attend one day or both days.

Visit the 2019 Summer Workshops page for a list of sessions and register today.
