If you haven’t yet been on the California Community Colleges Vision Resource Center, now is the time! After its first year and collecting feedback from users, there is a fresh design and new content for the essential work being done toward the Vision for Success goals.

The Vision Resource Center has two main features: Learn and Connect. Over 12,000 learning modules are available from Skillsoft, LinkedIn Learning (now providing all Lynda.com content), @ONE and the California Community Colleges. Online communities provide a systemwide space to connect with colleagues and share promising practices, resources and information. These features help connect the dots of our system’s interrelated reform efforts and facilitate collaboration and support for all system professionals.

Recent Vision Resource Center Updates
The welcome page gives users an immediate glimpse of key system information, including a new feature: Essentials. These pages are a first-stop for system professionals who want to learn about key topics such as the Vision for Success, Guided Pathways, Student Centered Funding Formula, AB 705, and Accessibility – with more to come. Relevant links are provided on each Essentials page.

A new Professional Development Calendar lists all of the scheduled California Community Colleges professional development workshops and events. Users can view upcoming events and details, and if they decide to attend they can easily add that item to their transcript for tracking and reporting. Systemwide events and activities will be added to the calendar as confirmed.

The welcome page also features Stories from the Field, containing short videos of system professionals sharing stories from their campuses. As each college works towards the Vision for Success goals, it is testing new approaches and identifying new promising practices every day. Stories from the Field capture system professionals’ thought processes, “a-ha” moments and lessons learned so we can share and help each other advance.

College Integration
The Vision Resource Center can be fully integrated at every California community college, which offers additional features for colleges. Full integration empowers a college to centralize its professional development training, tracking and reporting, and all within the same space as the system’s resources. Read more about full integration, or register for the next integration webinar on Tuesday, September 3, 10 – 11 a.m.
