CCC Data, a part of the Data Services Program (DSP) initiative from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO), provides all California community colleges with the necessary infrastructure to aggregate data, across disparate systems, to an enterprise data warehouse.
As a systemwide service supporting local efforts, CCC Data provides researchers at colleges, districts, and the CCCCO with access to these data sources, where critical data may be used to support institutional decision-making aligned with the Chancellor’s Vision for Success.
CCC Data is developed in coordination with, and at the direction of, the Digital Innovation and Infrastructure Division of the CCCCO. It is overseen by the Chancellor’s Office Data Governance Council, with input from the Data Warehouse Advisory Group, which is made up of institutional researchers.
Current and Upcoming Releases
The January 2021 CCC Data release introduced the ability for colleges and districts to connect directly to the Data Warehouse to support the business intelligence tools preferred by each college, including Power BI and Tableau. Colleges are currently able to access CCCApply (credit/non-credit application, international application, Promise grant) and Multiple Measures Placement Service data.
The April 2021 CCC Data release will expand the data available in the Data Warehouse to include data from MyPath, Canvas, and the Chancellor’s Office Curriculum Inventory System (COCI). Additionally, Management Information System (MIS), Launchboard and NOVA data will be available to the Chancellor’s Office as data governance is established to enable colleges accessing these data through the Data Warehouse.
Current Usage
There are currently 97 colleges with access to the Data Warehouse Report Server. Twenty of these colleges have begun the process of establishing a direct connection to the Data Warehouse to connect these data to their preferred business intelligence tool.
