Advance Vision 2030 Efforts through Proactive Institution-wide Accessibility: Become part of the 2024-25 ACMM cohort
Recently the US Department of Justice updated the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II , specifying minimum standards to proactive accessibility. This coupled with the California Community Colleges Vision 2030 – puts new light on educational equity.
Furthermore, the California Community Colleges Accessibility Center has developed the CCC Accessibility Capability Maturity Model (ACMM), comprised of attainable goals and milestones to help our colleges and districts achieve equity benchmarks.
The ACMM creates a framework for administrators, staff and faculty to collaboratively improve accessibility, in order to:
- Align with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility efforts outlined in the California Community Colleges Vision 2030
- Equity in Success: The ACMM focuses on proactive accessibility efforts across the institution, resulting in improved academic and career success
- Equity in Access: The ACMM focuses on removing obstacles to access for all students, faculty, staff and guests with disabilities, fostering community and belonging
- Equity in Support: The ACMM focuses on enabling full participation and ensuring access to all aspects of the college experience
- Mitigate risk through iterative improvement
- Pursue transformational cultural change
- Proactively address Office of Civil Rights (OCR) settlement requirements in a manageable timeline based on campus resources
- Ensure digital content across the institution is ADA Title II compliant
Join Our ACMM Cohort
We still have availability to add colleges and districts to ACMM Implementation Cohort 2, with Spring 2025 visitation dates open. Executive support (Vice President/Vice Chancellor-level or higher) is required for consideration.
