Leveraging the collective buying power of California community colleges, CollegeBuys contracts support institutional effectiveness through compliance and in accordance with California Public Contract Code 20661, thus conserving staff resources while bringing cost savings that empower colleges to stretch taxpayer dollars and reinvest into local priorities. These master agreements are the result of robust collaboration with community college districts and applicable system associations. Most recently, CollegeBuys has continued to expand its library of contracts to now include Softdocs and Ferrilli.
Softdocs – On July 5, 2022, CollegeBuys secured a partnership with Softdocs, which develops document management, electronic forms, workflow automation, eSignature, and print customization solutions for higher education.
Ferrilli – On August 29, 2022, CollegeBuys secured a partnership with Ferrilli to establish advantageous pricing for end-to-end technology services including technology optimization, security management, Cloud migration and management, managed services, and remote system administration. CollegeBuys was able to secure a discounted hourly rate of $195/hour with options for deeper discounts.
In an effort to continue enhancing its bulk purchasing programs, CollegeBuys will be gathering information from California Community College districts about laptops that will best fit their needs. A survey was published September 28 with the intent to understand district standards, volume and timeline of purchases, and interest in specific laptops and/or additional products or services. If there is some consistency amongst districts around what product(s) would be of interest, CollegeBuys hopes to deliver deeper discounts on those products through the coordination of a buying window. Participation in this survey is greatly appreciated, as receiving responses from each district will help ensure that those cost-saving opportunities are reflective of the needs of the entire system.
Recently, CollegeBuys announced its FY22-23 Workgroups, one of which focuses solely on Digital Transformation and Technology and is composed of both purchasing and technology professionals. CollegeBuys Workgroups reflect key areas of focus for the system while maintaining alignment with advancing systemwide priorities. The Digital Transformation and Technology Workgroup is designed to provide a collective voice in identifying priority systemwide agreements (goods and services) focused on academic and instructional technology, technology hardware, operational technology, and technology services as well as provide guidance on technology procurement standards and best practices.
