The California Community Colleges Multiple Measures Placement Service (MMPS) was built to assist with student transcript data integration and placement recommendations, and it is now ready for colleges to begin implementation.
MMPS addresses Assembly Bill 705, which mandates that California’s community colleges incorporate multiple high school transcript-based data points in determining English and math placements to increase students’ probability of completing transfer-level courses within one year. It is the result of a statewide collaboration between the California Community Colleges Board of Governors, Chancellor’s Office, colleges across the system and partners including the California College Guidance Initiative, Educational Results Partnership and the California Department of Education.
Benefits of MMPS:
A series of webinars was held in April and May explaining how MMPS can help colleges meet AB 705 requirements, and how to begin service adoption ahead of the fall 2019 legislative compliance deadline.
