The 4CIS Consortium was founded with the mission of standardizing and consolidating technology from several districts into one centralized Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. By consolidating, colleges and districts can see cost reductions in hardware upgrades, software upgrades, shared data centers, disaster recovery and business continuity planning, contract management, and security. This single system environment also provides ongoing savings through economies of scale to manage core functions, integrations, upgrades, configurations, innovations, testing, and purchasing.
The Consortium aims to bring millions of dollars in savings to California Community College districts through this consolidation. Kern CCD and Foothill-De Anza CCD will be the first districts to go live using the centralized ERP system environment in December, with Coast CCD targeted for launch next spring.
