DataVista Release Updates: May 2025
DataVista (DV), the California Community Colleges’ official metrics platform, continues to evolve in its mission to support data-informed decision-making across the state for information on the system’s student success. Designed to inspire a greater understanding of student achievement, student outcomes and equity, DataVista equips faculty, researchers and administrators with the tools needed to analyze and act on student success data with confidence.
This spring brings several key updates to the platform, expanding access to new datasets, metrics and user support tools. Below is a summary of what’s available now–and what’s ahead!
Launched March 13 of this year, our 2.0 release introduced the latest refresh of academic year data for 2023-24. This update included new features, important bug fixes and enhancements to overall platform functionality.
The 2.1 release marks a major milestone: the introduction of the Comprehensive Student Report, which includes an initial set of metrics covering all California Community Colleges students. For the first time, this release will also include data on K-12 Dual Enrollment students, enabling richer cross-system analysis and equity tracking. This release went live to the public on April 24, 2025.
A public release webinar was held on May 1.
Upcoming Release Launches
Looking ahead, the June 2025 release of 2.2 will expand on cohort-level data for K-12 Dual Enrollment students, building on the foundation of the April release and offering new ways to disaggregate and interpret longitudinal trends. Additional information and webinar registration will be posted on the DataVista News and Events page.
