For 20 years, the Online Teaching Conference (OTC) has been the premier conference for community college educators to increase their knowledge of online instruction and network with colleagues across the spectrum of online teaching experience. Due to COVID-19, OTC 2020 will be taking place fully online, and conference fees will be waived for all conference attendees.

Brought to you by CCC TechConnect, this year’s conference will take place June 17-19. OTC 2020 will be kicked off by a panel of experts addressing how to maintain instructional continuity during crisis situations. “Planning for the Unexpected: Front and Center” will highlight what has worked at different colleges during the current pandemic and provide recommendations for how to plan ahead for events that could impact or disrupt online instruction.

“Now more than ever, California’s community colleges need the opportunity to interact with peers and share their online experiences,” said Rico Bianchi, Director of TechConnect, which manages the OTC. “We are here to provide the support and resources they need to prepare for the future of higher education online.”

In keeping with previous conferences, OTC 2020 will offer high-quality content and access to leading distance education experts covering a range of topics within the following learning tracks:

  • Effective Online Teaching Practices
  • Equity in Online Teaching and Learning
  • Support and Resources
  • Technology Innovation
  • Leadership and Administration

This year’s event will include a smaller selection of sessions originally chosen for the in-person conference, geared to meet the needs of both new and seasoned online instructors. The agenda is available on the OTC website.

Although conference fees will be waived for all participants, conference attendees do need to register for the conference on the OTC website
